It didn't quite work

So we got to the hospital at 7am on Friday. They got me all hooked up to the monitors, took some blood, gave me an IV, etc. This was good practice for me when Peanut comes for real since I've never even been admitted to a hospital. It wasn't too bad. It was neat to watch the monitor of Peanut's heartbeat and my contractions. I had a few big ones but never even felt them.

My doctor came in around 8:45 and checked Peanut's position...still frank breech. Before we began, Mat prayed with all of us which was very comforting. Next, the doctor squirted a ton of gel all over my belly and with the help of 2 nurses began mashing on my belly to get Peanut to roll backwards, at first. Wow! It was quite painful. Mat was such a good coach reminding me to breathe and encouraging me. The nurses were so sweet too.

Well Peanut did not want to roll backwards after several minutes of trying. So they tried to roll it forward. This worked a little better. The head started out at the 10:00 position and made it to the 2:00 position. They stopped trying after 10 minutes or so. The funny thing was that Peanut was not phased by all the pushing one bit...no changes in the heart rate.

They kept me there another hour to monitor the two of us and everything was fine. My abdomen is quite sore and I feel pretty tired. I've been able to feel the contractions today, although still sporadic.

Thanks to everyone for the prayers. It meant a lot to me. I'll keep you posted as things develop. Hopefully not too much longer. Keep praying that Peanut will go ahead and roll forward just a little bit more.
